Custom & Heirloom Quilting - Quilting designs are selected based on the pattern of the quilt and the fabric. There are a number of designs including motifs, heavy quilting, stitch in the ditch, outlining, crosshatching, echo stitching, stippling, etc.

Echo Stippling - Repeating stitching, 1/4" or less, around the appliqué or design. Freehand echoing does not have to be exactly 1/4" apart and also may include going into swirls or other designs.

Feather Stitching - There are many feather shapes - a heart on both sides of a center stem, heart shapes starting large in the center and gradually getting smaller, meandering feathers with swirl shapes around the feathers, etc.

Meandering - Continuous lines, usually curved, following the overall pattern of the quilt top.

Pantographs - A continuous line pattern, also referred to as edge-to-edge or overall pattern, that is stitched over the entire quilt, although some pantograph designs may be used in borders or the center of the quilt.

Stippling - Small to large meandering

Stitch in the ditch - Quilting in the seams of the pieced sections of the quilt top.

Trapunto - Raised areas in quilting designs, with additional batting placed behind these areas.
